A Bike Trip Across Asia
Featuring the Leica BLK2GO
THE STORY
Yohann Ly, an employee of Hexagon for over 15 years, will set out on April 7th, 2023, for the trip of a lifetime—2,000 miles through Southeast Asia, riding through Vietnam, Laos, Thailand, and Cambodia on his bike. Yohann will see Asia like he’s never seen it before – and so will we!
Through Hexagon’s M.App Enterprise platform, Yohann has uploaded his biking path and will keep updating the map with real-time data captured by the Leica BLK2GO mobile scanner and statistics of his trip such as the distance he rode every day, the daily minimum and maximum temperature and the elevation profile of his route.
THE JOURNEY
Picking up a BLK2GO for the first time this year, Yohann's confident in the handheld scanner's capability and simplicity. He's anticipating becoming best friends with the BLK2GO by the end of his trip.
With tent equipment, wardrobe essentials, and the BLK2GO securely packed on his bike, Yohann will ride for two months exploring the landscapes.
Immersing himself in these environments, Yohann will bike up winding roads and down hilly tops, riding through local villages and talking with their residents. Camping underneath the stars. Landing in Hanoi with his bike, Yohann will start pedaling out of the city center and journey down roads many tourists may never see. From the North of Vietnam, Yohann will head south through Laos, Thailand, Cambodia, and back again to Vietnam – to the country’s southern tip in Ho Chi Minh City.
