Warranty provisions for DISTO & Lino laser products - 3 year warranty extension registration, and post sales service.

Warranty Provisions

The warranty period for the product is two years from the date of purchase. If you register for the 3 year extended warranty mentioned below, it will be extended to three years. During this period, if there are any malfunctions due to the product, it will be replaced with a new product free of charge, without repair. (After the warranty period expires, replacement will be available at a special price.)

Warranty period for rechargeable batteries

  • Leica DISTO D810 touch / S910 rechargeable batteries: 90 days
  • Leica 3D Disto rechargeable batteries: 2 years or 3 if it was registered

In case of malfunction of the rechargeable batteries during the warranty period, they can be replaced. Replacements are free of charge during the warranty period, but you will be responsible for the cost of the parts after the warranty period expires.

Warranty start date

It is the date of purchase of the product. Please keep documents that prove the date of purchase, such as receipts, as they will be required in case of malfunctions. If you lose the documents, the date of purchase (warranty start date) will be the Warranty Start date as shown in myWorld.

Cases where free replacement is not possible even during the warranty period

If the malfunction is not determined to be caused by the product, it will not be eligible for free replacement even during the warranty period.

For example, in the following cases:

  • Malfunction of the product due to use conditions or environments not specified in the instruction manual
  • Breakage or damage caused by major falls, immersion in water, or other reasons at the customer's convenience
  • Abrasions, minor scratches, or wear on the body housing indicating prolonged damage
  • Malfunction due to fire, earthquake, flooding, lightning strike, or other natural disasters
  • Malfunction due to battery leakage
  • Display damage

In such cases, please send photos of the device to our email. We will reply after determining whether paid replacement is possible. Contact us via the inquiry form (https://shop.leica-geosystems.com/contact-us).

If paid replacement is not possible due to severe damage or trauma to the device, we will inform you of the purchase price for a new device in advance, so please understand in advance.

DISTO / Lino

  • Accessories dedicated to Leica DISTO and Lino are not eligible.

After registering the product, please keep the following documents safe.

Documents required for warranty service

  • Documents proving the date of purchase (receipt, etc.)
  • Product registration certificate received by email when registering for the 3 year warranty

These two documents are required for warranty service. If they are lost, you will not be eligible for warranty service, so please keep them safe.

3D Disto

If you register and extend the warranty within 8 weeks of purchase via "myWorld", the warranty period will be extended from 2 years to 3 years. Download registration procedure

Post sales service

In case of product malfunction

First, please check the following:

  • Power on/off
  • Replace with new batteries (excluding D810 touch/S910 with rechargeable battery specifications)
  • Perform firmware update (X3/X4/D810 touch/S910/D5/X6 only)

If the problem persists, please contact us via the inquiry form. Please provide the model name, symptoms, and circumstances when the symptoms occurred. Additionally, please attach files showing the symptoms for physical confirmation by sending the product or photos/videos.

If it is determined to be eligible for free replacement, fill out a Disto After Sale Service (DASS) coupon, send the product to us, and we will ship the replacement after confirming the symptoms.

  • Paid replacement after the warranty period expires

If a malfunction occurs after the warranty period has expired, you will need to pay for a replacement with a new product. If the product has been discontinued, it will be replaced with the latest model (successor model).

Procedure for paid replacement

  1. Contact us via the inquiry form and provide the symptoms and model name.
  2. After confirming the symptoms, we will inform you of the model and price for paid replacement.
  3. Send the defective product to us with a completed DASS coupon.
  4. After confirming the symptoms, we will ship the replacement.

Reissue of Calibration Certificate

The following models can have their "Calibration Certificate" reissued, which is included with the product. It will be sent to our Swiss headquarters, and it will take about 1.5 months for us to hold onto your product. For details on cost and duration, please use the inquiry form.

Issue of Non-Applicable Certificate

When taking Leica DISTO series laser distance meters out of the country, no permission application is required. We also issue non-applicable certificates, so if you wish, please use the inquiry form. Since it requires written information from you and confirmation from us, it may take about a week.
