Switching ON and OFF

- The
 key switches on the instrument and activates the laser in a single press.
- Press key once quickly to shoot a distance or...
- Press and hold for 2 seconds to activate continuous laser measurement (Tracking).Press once quickly to switch off tracking.
- Press and hold the
 button for 2 seconds to switch off the E7100i. The E7100i automatically switches off after 3 minutes of inactivity.

Bluetooth
Leica DISTO E7100i includes Bluetooth® Smart (V4.0) capability that will allow it to automatically send measurements to your tablet or phone.Note: A DISTO-compatible app must be running and connected to the DISTO via the app. You will see the 7100i in Bluetooth Settings.

- To toggle on/off the Bluetooth data sending press and hold the
 key for 2 seconds.
- To transfer a result from the device, press the key once after measurement.
- Bluetooth switches off as soon as the laser distance meter is switched off.

Changing Units

- Press and hold the
 button for 2 seconds each time to change the measurement unit.
- They change in this order.
- 0.000 meter (three decimal places)
- 0.0000 meter (four decimal places)
- 0.00 ft (feet with two decimal places)
- feet and inches, displaying to the nearest 1/32”
- inches, displaying to the nearest 1/32

Straight line single distance measurement

- To begin, press the key once to switch the laser on and aim at your target
- Pressing the key again and the device shows the measurement result on the display.
* For measurements, where there is nothing obvious at the other end for the laser to reflect back, it is recommended that you use Leica branded target plate for maximum measurement range

Area Measurement
Area measurement is a basic function provided in almost all Leica DISTO devices. This helps you calculate the area of wall or surface just by measuring the height and width.
 |
- For measuring the area of a surface, press the key once to activate the Area application. The Area icon will appear on the display, indicating to shoot the first measurement.
- Shoot the 1st measurement . The Area icon will indicate to take the second reading.
- Shoot the 2nd measurement with the key. Once the measurement is complete the E7100i automatically calculates and displays the area for you.
